Back to Our Past returns to the RDS in Ballsbridge, Dublin this weekend. It will feature trade stands from some of the big genealogical organisations – both commercial and state repositories as well as family history societies. I’ll be delivering two talks – my first in-person events for over two years!
Saturday 12 noon: Tracing your Dublin Ancestors. How do you find your ancestors in a big city? This class looks at the census and birth, death & marriage records (both civil and church) using free resources both on and offline as well as those on commercial sites.
Sunday 12 noon: Combining DNA results with traditional genealogical research. DNA testing has become a hot topic in recent years. This lecture discusses how to use your DNA results to enhance your family history research. It considers the benefits and pitfalls. If you’re thinking about taking a DNA test, this class can help you decide if it’s worthwhile.
Hope to see you there!
